SEOUL, May 7 (Yonhap) -- Even during the second week of its release on the Children's Day holiday, the franchise film 'The Roundup: Punishment (The Roundup 4)' starring Ma Dong-seok continued its box office dominance in theaters.

According to the integrated computer network of movie admissions on the 7th, 'The Roundup 4' attracted a total of over 2.148 million viewers (occupying 80.6% of the box office revenue) over the three days from the 4th to the 6th, maintaining its position as the top film at the box office.

Following the achievement of surpassing 8 million viewers the day before, the cumulative number of viewers increased to over 8.56 million.

Achieving 8 million viewers on the 13th day of its release, it surpassed the speed of reaching this milestone by 5 days compared to 'Exhuma' directed by Jang Jae-hyun, which is the highest-grossing film and a 'ten million seller' in the first half of this year.

However, compared to the opening weekend's audience numbers, its impact has diminished somewhat.

Although there were controversies over 'screen monopolization' as the initial occupancy rate exceeded 80%, it decreased to the late 60% to early 70% range during the Children's Day holiday.

Nevertheless, with its overwhelming share of box office revenue, it is forecast to reach 10 million viewers within the next week.

The animated film 'Kung Fu Panda 4,' which targeted the Children's Day special, ranked second at the box office, attracting over 229,000 viewers (8.3%) during the holiday.

This film, which had daily attendance drop to below 10,000 after the release of 'The Roundup 4,' gathered over 108,000 viewers in just one day on May 5th, Children's Day.

Ranked third was the latest animated film of hit anime series "Pokemon," which attracted over 92,000 viewers (3.1%).

The action-romantic comedy film 'The Fall Guy,' starring Ryan Gosling, entered the fourth place, gathering over 75,000 viewers (3.2%).
