Coronation Street favourite Lisa George, who is instantly recognisable to fans as Beth Tinker, has reportedly filmed her last scenes on the celebrated ITV show.

The rumour mill went into overdrive after she recently hosted a farewell get-together with her Coronation Street colleagues, sparking speculation that her time on the soap had come to an end.

In an exclusive scoop last year, The Sun broke the news that Lisa was preparing to leave the Street, teasing a sensational exit plot scheduled for this summer.

Despite hints previously dropped by Lisa that she might be sticking around, including mentioning a new contract, and despite her not being seen on screen since the previous year, the publication has reported that she has indeed wrapped up her role. Insiders have affirmed that Lisa has said her goodbyes to her iconic role. has reached out to ITV for comment.

Since her first appearance in 2011, Lisa has been a staple on the cobbles, and the festivities marking her departure saw her joined by screen husband Andy Whyment and screen son Colson Garfield at a venue in Manchester's Media City.

Adding to the whispers of her exit, Coronation Street legend Sally Dynevor shared an emotional Instagram post, uploading a photo with Lisa captioned: "Love you @lisageorge."

This was amongst other snapshots from the night, including one of Andy and Colson together.

Other well-loved co-stars such as Georgia Taylor, Jane Danson, and Alison King were also seen joining the celebrations.

While the exact circumstances of Beth's dramatic farewell from the Street remain tightly under wraps, insiders have hinted that viewers are in for a memorable send-off.

The source revealed: "Beth's a larger-than-life character who's never shied away from a clash. Her exit will be as dramatic as she is.

"Lisa has been on Corrie for a long time and she's had some great storylines. She's become a firm fan favourite with her comedy scenes but has had viewers sobbing in heartbreaking plots like Sinead's death.

"She loves Corrie and it's in her bones but she feels now is the right time to move on and take on new challenges."

Lisa recently opened up about her health battles, disclosing that she is at risk of losing her sight. She is half-blind in her right eye due to a hemorrhage behind her optic nerve.

The actress is afflicted with NAION - non-arteritic anterior ischemic optic neuropathy - a condition that triggers sudden vision loss in one eye. This rare condition affects only 11 percent of people in the UK and can lead to total blindness in some cases.

She confessed to The Sun in 2020: "I hemorrhaged behind my optic nerve four years ago and I'm half-blind in my right eye, they said it was like a stroke but also I got hit in the eye with a bit of rope. They think I'd had some mini-stroke but a specialist said it has to be the rope, I still don't know. I lost my peripheral."

Lisa's doctor warned her that her full sight would never recover and that the damage was irreversible. However, she remains determined not to let her disability get her down and has "accepted" her situation.

Coronation Street airs Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays at 8pm on ITV.
